Peace in Kurdistan sends its support and best wishes to Ibrahim Dogus in this election week. We wish him every success in his bid to become the next Labour MP for West Bromwich East. Ibrahim has worked tirelessly for the Kurdish people throughout his career and we are absolutely certain that he will provide a clear voice on Kurdish issues in Parliament following his election.
Ibrahim was the founder not only the Centre for Kurdish Progress but also the Centre for Turkey Studies providing new thinking on urgent policy issues of concern to the Kurdish and Turkish people. These organisations have flourished and brought together a vast number of different voices and thus introduced a whole new audience to the issues that matter to the Kurdish community.
We believe that Ibrahim’s clear commitment to social justice, his integrity and obvious abilities will make him an exceptional Member of Parliament. As an MP Ibrahim will serve with dedication the people who elect him and he will also be a true friend of all those communities seeking to have their voices heard in politics including the many Kurds who are living in the UK.
