Community Book Launch:
The Diversity of Exploitation:
On the Critique of Dominant Antiracism
5.30-7.30pm Wednesday 5th November
The Garden House (Kitabevi), 410 High Rd, London N17 9JB
The liberal concept of racism is primarily concerned with representation, inclusion, and diversity. The connection between class and race is rarely addressed. Drawing on experiences in Germany, this book contributes to the critical Marxist tradition of racism research. We intervene in current debates on structural and institutional racism, whether in the labour market or the police.
Major themes:
- The materialist concept of racism
- Class and race: migrant workers as a super-exploited section of the working class
- How capitalism both oppresses women and racialised non-white people specifically
- Explaining the rise of the right
