Anna Campbell (1991 – 15 March 2018), also known as Hêlîn Qereçox, was a British feminist, anarchist and prison abolition activist who fought with the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) in the Rojava conflict of the Syrian civil war. She was killed in Rojava by a Turkish Armed Forces missile strike. Her father Dirk Campbell has celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Rojava revolution.

Konstandinos Erik “Kosta” Scurfield was a former British Royal Marine who, in December 2014, left for Syria and joined the Kurdish YPG, a militia fighting against the Islamic State. Scurfield, who was known by the Kurdish nom de guerre Sehid Kemal, was killed on 2 March 2015, at the age of 25. His mother Vasiliki Scurfield has celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Rojava revolution.
