KCK: Exclusive Information on New Chemical Weapon Used by Turkish State (Oct 9)

in a statement on September 29, 2021 the People`s Defense Forces (HPG) accused the Turkish army of using a new type of chemical weapon against the guerrilla forces in South Kurdistan. Now, new information on this weapon has been released.

According to reports by the Kurdish journalist Kawa Tolhildan who follows the Turkish attacks from the South Kurdish region of Behdinan, since last month the Turkish army has been using a new chemical weapon that „makes the skin turn red on contact with the skin and slowly dissolves the human body. So this gas dissolves the flesh of the human body“. He added that „the explosion effect of this weapon was described to us like a kind of earthquake. It is enormously strong“. These reports are based on information provided by members and commanders of the HPG. Tolhildan Kawa also reports that the chemical gas that had been used earlier „was apparently gray and smelled like burnt sugar“. Regarding the intensity of the use of chemical weapons he stated: „According to the information available to us, chemical weapons have been used against the guerrilla almost 300 times in the past almost six months. The majority of these uses have occurred in the past two months.“

“Dear viewers, as you know, the guerrilla has been resisting in the Medya Defense Zones for over five months now. A few days ago, the People’s Defense Forces HPG issued an official statement regarding the use of chemical weapons by the Turkish state. In the statement, the HPG informed the public about the use of a new weapon by the Turkish state since last month. We had the opportunity to speak directly with members and commanders of the guerrilla in this regard and obtain additional information about this new weapon. According to our information, the effect of this new weapon used by the Turkish state is much stronger than the weapons used so far. The explosion effect of this weapon was described to us like a kind of earthquake. It is enormously strong. In addition, we were told that an extremely obnoxious smell spreads after the explosion. It is different from the gas that was used before. The gas used so far was apparently gray and smelled like burnt sugar. But the new weapon that has been used recently is much stronger in terms of the explosion effect and also spreads an extremely disgusting smell. We were also told by members of the guerrilla that the new gas makes the skin turn red on contact with the skin and slowly dissolves the human body. So this gas dissolves the flesh of the human body. The guerrilla is resolutely resisting against this new weapon, especially in the South Kurdish areas of Zap, Metina and Avaşin. The guerrilla is fighting against this kind of weapons. That is, against weapons that dissolve the flesh of the human body. The guerrilla is fighting against such boundless barbarity and brutality. According to the information available to us, chemical weapons have been used against the guerrilla almost 300 times in the past almost six months. The majority of these uses have occurred in the past two months. We have also already pointed out that a new type of gas has been used since last month. Without a doubt, the use of this weapon by the Turkish state illustrates that it has lost against the guerrilla resistance. And it illustrates the hopelessness of the hegemonic system, which does not succeed in breaking the Kurdish people. That is why today these forces are attacking the center of resistance, the mountains of Kurdistan, and they want to reach their goal there this year. But today we are witnessing a new peak of determined guerrilla resistance throughout the Medya Defense Zones against all these attacks.”
