Dear all,
for two months, Turkey has been carrying out heavy attacks on South
Kurdistan (North Iraq) which aim at occupying and eventually annexing an
area stretching all the way to the oil-rich cities of Kirkuk and Mosul.
Since Turkey hopes to achieve strategic goals with these attacks, it has
resorted to the deployment of thousands of troops, daily air strikes,
artillery shelling, 24/7 drone activity and the heavy use of chemical
weapons. As Reccep Tayyip Erdogan is threatening to invade North Syria
again, the war in South Kurdistan is also expected to continue.
According to a statement published today by the Peoples´ Defense Forces
(HPG), since April 14…
…985 Turkish soldiers have been killed and 166 more wounded,
…58 members of the HPG and YJA-Star guerrilla forces have fallen martyr
including 13 as a result of attacks with chemical weapons,
…the HPG and YJA-Star guerrilla forces have carried out 744 attacks on
the Turkish occupying forces,
…the Turkish army has carried out 2065 air strikes and 1493 helicopter
attacks,
…the Turkish army has attacked guerrilla positions with chemical weapons
and explosives 779 times,
…the HPG and YJA-Star guerrilla forces have shot down 3 Turkish
helicopters and 15 drones,
…and 46 helicopters and 5 drones of the Turkish army were heavily
damaged by the HPG and YJA-Star guerrilla forces.
