Interview with Cemil Bayik KCK Co-Chair

Our Interviews

January 01, 2022

Parts of an interview with Cemil Bayik, KCK co-Chair, about the most important developments of 2021 and foreseeable political trends in Kurdistan, the Middle East and beyond in 2022:

Strong International Campaign for Freedom of Abdullah Öcalan

After the international conspiracy, Rêber Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] renewed the socialist paradigm. He developed a paradigm for all socialist forces and for humanity as a whole. This new paradigm has gained great influence ever since. Today, the importance of this paradigm is being understood more and more. There is a global campaign for the freedom of Rêber Apo which is constantly gaining strength. The reason for this is the new paradigm developed by Rêber Apo. With this new socialist paradigm Rêber Apo has developed a new approach for the solution of all problems related to democracy and freedom. Those who have developed a sound understanding for this new paradigm are increasingly voicing their support for the paradigm and Rêber Apo. So no matter what, today, it has become impossible to prevent the freedom of Rêber Apo. The Turkish state, some of its international supporters and certain collaborating Kurds are trying to stop this campaign for Rêber Apo`s freedom. But all their efforts will be to no avail. I expect this campaign to grow even stronger in 2022. Alongside the women, who have been leading this campaign, our people in Rojava and Europe, our comrades in the prisons, but also our people in Mexmûr, Lavrio and many more places have played an important role. Because of their efforts this campaign has had an international effect. Therefore, I would like to thank all local administrations, politicians, trade unions, intellectuals, authors and all forces who have participated in this campaign and who have offered their support. In the name of our people and our movement I would like to thank them all.”

TJK-F and CDK-F: France is guilty as long as justice is not served!
6 January 2022/ANF
“On January 9, 2013, the fascist Turkish state assassinated three of our revolutionary female comrades from Kurdistan in Paris, France’s capital. We commemorate Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez, who were murdered in an inhumane attack, with respect and gratitude on the 9th anniversary of their murder, and once again condemn this vile attack with great hatred and anger. World public opinion declares no to the PKK ban!

In Kurdistan, which is one of the regions of the world where war and humanitarian crisis are at their most critical, the Turkish state continues its genocidal policies of violence, denial and assimilation. The Turkish government headed by Erdogan is implementing all kinds of state violence in Turkey/Bakur, Syria/Rojava and Iraq/Bashur under the pretext of the “fight against terrorism”. 25 November 2021- Peace in Kurdistan Statement on International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

On 25th of November, the Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, which is recognised all over the world, Peace in Kurdistan commemorates all women who have been killed, whose lives were ended as a result of male violence.

We stand with Kurdish women across Kurdistan and raise our voices to amplify their message. In the year when Turkey pulled out of the Istanbul Convention which sought to advance the struggle against gender based violence we have seen violence spiralling increasingly out of control both domestically and in the conflict zones of Afrin and Northern Iraq. It is the age of women, the age of revolution, the age of freedom!

Dear women,

Attached we share with you the declaration of the umbrella organisation of the Kurdish Women’s Liberation Movement on the occassion of November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Let’s meet on the streets and squares, all over the world, and smash patriarchy!

Jin Jiyan Azadî – Woman Life Freedom

Kurdish Women’s Relations Office (REPAK)

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

As we welcome 25 November, we see that the fight against violence against women is growing like never before in history. All over the world, women are joining the ranks of resistance to put an end to male violence. From Kurdistan to Afghanistan, from Egypt to Peru, from England to Ethiopia, from the USA to Australia, millions of women of all ages, colours and nationalities are in revolt against the patriarchal system. We salute all our organized structures from all four parts of Kurdistan and abroad that participated in the “Time to Defend Free Women and Society” movement that we started as KJK. Just like how some parts of Rojava, where a strong women’s revolution and resistance exists, were handed over to the fascist Turkish state in 2018 and 2019, Afghanistan was also remorselessly handed over to the Taliban, and we salute our Afghan sisters who fearlessly resist the occupation by the Taliban. Solidarity with the women’s, cross-border self-defence struggle against male violence! Solidarity with the 21st century women’s revolution movement, which leads the struggle for freedom and democracy against all kinds of exploitation, occupation, and fascism!
